Uprise is cloud-based so the technical requirements are minimal, however we do have some recommendations to give you the optimal experience with our system.

There are hundreds of options when it comes to tablets, with more being introduced all the time. Uprise may work on any of them – it is nearly impossible to conduct rigorous testing on every single device. The Uprise EHR has been thoroughly tested on the following recommended tablets.

For optimal exam productivity, we recommend optometrists use the Microsoft Surface Pro tablets.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS

BACKUP INTERNET

We recommend backing up your network with an inexpensive router and 4G cellular collection. It's a small but critical investment to ensure your practice stays online even if your primary Internet connection goes down.

INTERNET SPEED

We recommend an Internet download speed of at least 12 megabits (Mbps) per second, but you will need a minimum of 8 megabits (Mbps) per second. Most Internet providers will provide a minimum upload speed of 512 kilobits (Kbps) per second, however, depending on your preferences, you may want to opt for a faster upload speed.

When contacting your Internet provider, please confirm that they are giving you Internet speeds in terms of megabits per second, not bytes. (NOTE: You can test your internet speed yourself for free here.)

ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE

We recommend that all users have anti-virus software installed that will be used to access Uprise, with updated definitions and scheduled file scans. This is really just a best practice, not a requirement to use our system.
